A coming of age dramedy, with an Indian / American protagonist, it packs in more than teenage romance, sexuality and rivalry, touching upon grief, therapy, parenting, disability and many other relevant issues.
Well acted by the entire cast, it has two popular narrators who bring the star value to the show. A fun and light watch with a caricaturist approach to Indian society, which perhaps is its only drawback.
Chris Hemsworth and director Sam Hargrave give us exceptional action in Dhaka where a a drug lord’s son is being held after he is kidnapped.
Randeep Hooda is a pleasant surprise, supported well by Rudhraksh Jaiswal. Kudos to the little kid who threatens Chris not once but twice in an action sequence, he was memorable!
Thoroughly enjoyed the setting and pace of the film. Streaming now on Netflix.
Finally watched the film that won so many awards and rightfully so! Brilliant writing and performances make a nuanced viewing experience.
The film starts with a simple premise, which slowly turns into a social commentary. Subtle differences in class, lifestyle, taking advantage of the naive or the trusting, turns characters greedy, manipulative and ruthless.
What we witness in the climax is unexpected and shows the extent to which prejudice and the fight to survive can affect the human psyche.
Stellar direction by Bong Joon-ho and a must watch!
This British comedy has all the ingredients to educate and enlighten. Following the lives of teenagers who are discovering themselves during puberty and high school shenanigans, they stumble upon an unlikely source of therapy.
They all need it, because they are stumbling through an unknown world of sexuality, pleasure, being coy or a virgin. Adult lives and relationship woes provide entertaining and insightful sub plots while giving you an education which you may not have had in school!
Well written and brilliantly acted by the ensemble cast! Great watch!
A brilliant concept and story, based on a novel of the same name by Richard K. Morgan, the series keeps you glued to its fast changing environment and technical plot points.
In a world where a consciousness can live forever, there are bound to be power struggles, conflicts of interest and complications. All this and more span centuries of drama and romance, bringing a detailed theme alive on screen.
The action scenes are intense, the aesthetics riveting, the costumes and rich production values make it a great watch.
A hilarious BBC show, with an interesting premise. Young house owners realise they are not the only ones living there, joined by ghosts of decades and centuries past.
Training for politics starts early in this wealthy high school setting, where power, dysfunction, comedy and mind games entertain you aplenty.
An ensemble cast plays out many layered and some caricature characters very well. There is a lot at stake and the plot will not stop at anything to achieve its ends!
A rich tapestry of history, drama, culture and society in the past make for a entertaining viewing.
The performances by Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe and Tobias Menzies are impeccable, supported by a talented cast. Some of the violence and gore is spine chilling, but adds authenticity to the period in history.
A brilliant lens in to a time which shaped events in the Kingdom. Based on the series by Diana Gabaldon it is a must watch!
